Wake Up And Smell The Zaatar: Levinsky Spice Market Tour

Picture
Do you have trouble getting out of bed in the morning? One whiff of freshly ground coffee beans from Guy’s “coffee guy” will have you up in no time. Join Guy for a walk through the tantalizing Levinsky Spice Market, located on and around Levinsky Street in Southern Tel Aviv, brimming with, you guessed it, spices representing Tel Aviv’s diverse culinary and cultural heritage. Learn the Hebrew names, which often derive from other languages, including Arabic and Farsi, for a diverse array of spices, herbs, dried fruits and other delicacies as Guy helps you discover the anthropological inner workings of this bustling “shuk.” Guy will introduce you to all of his favorite vendors, including those who sell spice blends based on carefully guarded family recipes, naturally-flavored sodas, homemade cheeses, and saffron worth more than gold. Make sure to leave room for sampling and snacking; your stomach won’t be disappointed.
